The Adreno 225 from Qualcomm is a well known GPU and has been used on many high-end mobile phones. In the Adreno 200 series it is the top rated integrated graphics card in of the Snapdragon S4 line. The Adreno 225 offers 8 SIMDs with 4 MADs per SIMD and has been rated at 25.6 GFLPS at 400 MHz.

The ARM Mali-400 MP4 is an upgraded version of the ARM Mali-400 MP1. The naming convention shows that this version of the GPU has 4 cores. This is usually 4 cores and vertex shader. This chip is slightly lower than a PowerVR SGX 543MP2.

The ARM Mali series of GPU’s come in a number of versions. These range from single core to 4 core GPU processors. The ARM Mali-400 MP is an OpenGL ES 2.0 able GPU and was released in 2008. The GPU is in the bottom range of the Mali 4 series of processors. The chip is intended to be used in tablets and smartphones.

PowerVR SGX545

The PowerVR SGX545 is another popular GPU which had been used in many mobile phones since its release in 2010. Unlike the PowerVR SGX530 and the PowerVR SGX544 it has 4 pixel and 2 vertex shaders but runs at ~533MHz which is more than twice as fast as the other versions.

PowerVR SGX540

The PowerVR SGX540 GPU was introduced in 2007 and has been used extensively over the years by a number of mobile phone brands. The PowerVR SGX540 normally came with ARM based systems on chip or SOC’s. The GPU was a bit higher in ability than the PowerVR SGX535 which only had 2 pixel and 2 shaders.
