Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 : MSM8625

The MSM8625 processor from Snapdragon has been used extensively in the mobile phone market. Many have come to depend on its power efficiency as a dual core processor. The basic technical specs for the phone has been added below.

The chip basics are as follows and you will note that the chip has been around for a number of years. Today you will find it mainly in the budget-end phones that do not require as much power for digital and multimedia processing and editing such as pictures and video.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8625 has been used in the following phone which you can find on the market. This is not an extensive listing but it does give you a good idea of its range of use. Its an average chip compared to the others in the Snapdragon S4 range of chips.

The dual core has an average speed of 1.3GHz and its primary processor is the ARM Cortex-A5. The graphics is powered by a Qualcomm Adreno 203 which has all the API’s for Direct3D Mobile, DirectDraw, EGL 1.3, OpenGL ES 1.1, OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenVG 1.1 as well as the SVG Tiny 1.2. The chipset also has a display resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Digital signal processing is done by the embedded 350MHz Hexagon QDSP5 DSP.
