The phone has been around since 2011 and still has a good following as the Lumia range simply grows with more options on each upgrade. Looking at the specs there has not been any drastic changes from the Lumia 800 to the Lumia 525 which was released in late 2013. You can find the Lumia 800 user manual here.

Nokia Lumia 800

Network:

The Lumia 800 has the same specs which is standard for the Lumia mid-range telephones. It come with the standard 2G coverage from GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 which covers the full spectrum of the 2G networks. With regard to 3G again the standard HSDPA 850, 900, 1900 and 2100. There is also coverage for use in Canada which does not include the RM-819 in its network coverage.

Sound:

The Lumia 800 comes with what is to be expected such as WAV ringtones and also vibration ringing and like most mobile phones on the market it has the ability to play your MP3 files as a ringtone. There is also the standard loudspeaker however on this model there is no Micro SDcard slot. The Lumia 800 came to market without this ability which creates its own problems as you do not have the ability to extend your phone memory.

The internal memory is only 512MB and this cannot be extended. More memory does mean you can run more complicated apps however it also runs down the battery life much faster. There is also a fixed amount of storage at 16GB and with no SDcard ability the phone is limiting in this regard.

Connectivity:

With GPRS Class 33 connectivity and EDGE also being Class 33 added the HSDPA as 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA as 5.76Mbps the The phone being a bit dated still has a much slower HSDPA speed of 14.4 Mbps compared to the newer phones.

There is also the standard WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP, EDR connectivity and microUSB connectivity. Nothing new about these as they have become very standard on mobile phones today.

Nokia Lumia 800 Specifications MultiMedia:

The Lumia 800 comes with a Carl Zeiss camera as standard This is an 8 MegaPixel camera and considering what this phone was sold for it is a good addition to the overall value of the mobile phone.

The 8 MegaPixel camera runs at 3264×2448 pixels which is huge and comes with autofocus again as standard. If you are into make small home movies then this camera is still beats the newer Nokia 525 to the punch in multimedia.

There is no secondary camera on this mobile phone but that would be a bit of an overkill in any event. The camera also comes with geo-tagging and runs at a very decent 30fps while still recording at 720pixels. The mobile phone comes with a dual flash so you eliminate shadows when you take pictures which is always a good facility to have.

The is also the standard Nokia software for the camera this being Cinemagraph which does animation with your photos, PhotoBeamer and Panorama for take fancy images. The Nokia Smart Camera software also allows you to take many pictures in sequence which you can download.

Hardware:

The Lumia 800 uses the Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset and this mobile phone is powered by the 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor. The GPU is the Adreno 205 which is the GPU for this mobile-phone. The phone is rounded off with an accelerometer and proximity sensors. The phone uses the Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango which is upgradable to Microsoft Version 7.8.

Other:

The Lumia 800 phone comes with an FM radio and the ability to send multimedia messages. These include MMS and as always email and then there are also Internet Messengers. There is also support for GPS and A-GPS support. Note that this phone has no Java and only comes in Black, Cyan, Magenta and  White.

The microphone is a noise cancelling microphone. There is an MP3 and WMA multimedia player, 7GB of free Skydrive storage facility, document viewer, Video and photo editor if you like making short home movies. Voice memo and dialing and predictive text input to round off a well balanced  mobile phone.

Power:

The power specs much like the other mobile phones in the Lumia range is rather good. Considering it is running on a Scorpion 1.4 Ghz process the battery life is more than reasonable.

The Lumia 800 has a Lithium Ion battery with 1450mAh storage and this allows the mobile phone when not being used to last at least 11 days before it needs to be charged. It can play MP3′s for about 53 hours and has about 13 hours of talk time. What comes with this phone. Well the Nokia Lumia 800 with a high efficiency charger and a Quick guide booklet.

If you are in the market for a mobile phone then this is still a very good buy.  The Lumia 800 is much better at multimedia than the newer budget Lumia phones coming out. With a good battery life, large screen and a great multimedia package this is a phone that will be around for a long time.
