The Nokia X2 Dual SIM was released in July 2014 much like the Nokia X as well as the Nokia XL which had been phones released for the mid and high-end cellular phone markets. The Nokia X2 Dual is also known as the Nokia X2 RM-1013 and also known as the Nokia X2DS mobile phone.

The Nokia X2 Dual is another good mid-range mobile phone in the €90 price range.  The Nokia X2 Dual comes with 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 – SIM 1 & SIM 2) as well as 3G band (HSDPA 900/2100) connectivity. Note that the HSPA speeds are 21.1/5.76 Mbps. There is also EDGE (up to 236.8 kbps) as well as GPRS (up to 85.6 kbps).

The size of the phone is between the Nokia X and Nokia XL at 121.7 x 68.3 x 11.1 mm. See the graphic below to see what the sizes are and how they compare. The phone also weights about 150 grams which is a small bit heaver than the other phones released in 2014 under the X banner.

The screen is an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and the screen is a large 4.3 inches which is midway between the X and XL versions of the X mobile phones from 2014. It also has a good screen resolution at 480 x 800 pixels with a ~217 ppi pixel density. It is a multitouch screen and it makes use of scratch-resistant glass. It also uses a ClearBlack display and there is also a Nokia X platform 2.0 User Interface.

The phone is powered by a powerful Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor as well as the well known and powerful Adreno 302 GPU on a Snapdragon 400 MSM8926 chipset. It also makes use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset while running on the Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean) software. The hardware is very good and it makes use of a removable Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery. The memory is large and the phone comes with a standard 4 GB of space and 1 GB RAM. There is also a dedicated slot for a 32GB microSD card.

In terms of multimedia, the camera is very good. There Nokia X2 Dual SIM has a 5 MP camera with autofocus and an LED flash. The 1/4″ sensor size is good and allows light into the camera giving very good photos and video. There is also the usual geo-tagging and touch focus. Video playback is also very good at 720p@30fps and the secondary camera is a VGA 480p camera which is also capable.

Other features on the phone are standard with most mid range phones. These are a 3.5mm headphone jack, loudspeaker and vibration; MP3 and WAV ringtones alert. There is also Wifi with hotspot. There is also Bluetooth v4.0, A2DP, GPS in the form of A-GPS, GLONASS as well as BDS.

The version 2 USB port as well as a stereo FM radio and RDS. In terms of sensors there is also an accelerometer and proximity sensor. Messaging on the phone is also provided for with SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email and internet messenger. There is no Java on the phone and it comes with HTML browser ability. The phone comes with a Photo editor as well as a media player mainly a Flac player.

The Nokia X2 Dual SIM phone overall is a good buy in its price range (€90) with a removable Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery with up to 552 h standby time and up to 10 h (2G) in talk time.
