PowerVR SGX545

The PowerVR SGX545 is another popular GPU which had been used in many mobile phones since its release in 2010. Unlike the PowerVR SGX530 and the PowerVR SGX544 it has 4 pixel and 2 vertex shaders but runs at ~533MHz which is more than twice as fast as the other versions.

The GPU has been used in the Atom Z2460 as well as the Atom Z2760. Many mobile phones have also used this GPU in their video and graphics processing. The PowerVR  SGX545 and the GMA 3650 of the Atom N28xx models are pretty identical. It can also make use of Direct3D 9.3. The performance of the GPU in a computer is pretty poor but not in a mobile phone where its low power consumption adds to its wide use in the tablet and mobile phone market.

GPU Name Chip Clock GFlops
SGX545 300 MHz 4.8
Atom Z2460 Atom Z2760 533 MHz 8.5

The GFlops have been listed above and you can compare this to the other GPU’s in this range of mobile phone GPU’s. The GMA graphics cards in the Intel range of products made use of this in their Atom range of processors. Below you can find a brief breakdown of its specs.

Architecture PowerVR SGX5

There are no known mobile phones which use this chip but there are a number of notebooks which have made use of this chip. The Acer Iconia A1-811 as well as the Asus Vivo Tab Smart and the Samsung Ativ Smart PC makes use of this GPU.
