Nokia 114

The Nokia 114 comes with a dual SIM option and covers the 2G networks (GSM 900 / 1800). For most people this is more than enough else you would be looking at a more feature rich mobile phone such as the Lumia 525 which is a budget phone as well but a bit more expensive. The Nokia 114 does sport GPRS (59.2 kbps) as well as EDGE (236.8 kbps) so it would satisfy the need for an internet connection.

Nokia 114 SpecificationsThe phone has been around for at least 4 years and still gets a good price on the second hand market. It is small (110 x 46 x 14.8 mm) as the screen is also small which might not suit certain users (1.8 inches) adding that the resolution of ~114 ppi pixel density is slightly lower than the Nokia 105. The screen is a standard TFT 65K colours and its good for basic use.

The Nokia 114 does have a dedicated slot for the microSD card with up to 32GB of space and there is 16MB of internal memory. If the memory runs full then you will have to move data from the internal memory to the SD card. You can find the user manual for the Nokia 114 listed on our sister website. The camera is pretty low grade and if you want something better then an upgrade or a different phone might be in order. The video frame rates and resolution show this as it is at a low 176×144@15fps. The Nokia 215 also a buNokia 114 Specificationsdget phone has a better quality video at 240p@15fps.

Nothing to fancy with the alert types as it only offers vibration and polyphonic ringtones. There are not MP3 options as it is a low budget mobile phone. There is no WiFi however it does offer Bluetooth, USB and an FM radio. This is what has become standard in the lower budget mobile phone markets. Note that there is no GPS so its limited what you can use on the phone but not really a big issue.

The phone does offer SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email and internet messenger so its a well rounded budget mobile phone for basic tasks. Considering the price range it makes for a good run-about mobile phone. Its also got hard buttons, good size and no place for the dust to creep in between buttons. With dual SIM’s its a good mobile phone for a contractor who works out of his/her usual region.
